Open House

Is a day we invite all our parents, visitors and members of the community to visit our school and experience what a regular school day at Oneonta is like. Unlike traditional schools, our students actually work with the Montessori materials using their hands (and other senses) to learn concepts in a concrete manner, thereby allowing them to progress at a faster pace. On Open house day, students present the materials to parents and visitors, explaining its significance, goal and purpose. Also, in preparation for Open House, classrooms choose themes that relate to their curriculums; students participate in various art activities, do research projects, paint murals, make dioramas etc to show off their work. It is a wonderful day to visit Oneonta and see firsthand how our students learn and thrive.
